Perhaps I’m channeling my inner goth when I say this, but I’ve always had a thing for hearses. Sure, they’re dark and macabre, with an air of mystery, but there is also an element of grace and elegance.
In preparation for Halloween, our local grocery store set up this antique, horse-drawn model. So beautiful.
And here she is all dressed up for Halloween.
Personally, I subscribe to the “less is more” camp when it comes to decorating, but I love the way the store is getting in the mood for the holiday.
What part of Halloween are you looking forward to the most? The candy? Babies in costumes? The parties? Or do you just endure until it all ends?

That’s actually super-cool. Isn’t Hallowe’en supposed to be a bit morbid and ghastly, with a fun edge thrown in? Just sayin’. =)

That’s really cool! I love all the decorations, spooky or not. I love getting Alex dressed up for Halloween (he will be a Clone Trooper this year). I love carving pumpkins. I really enjoy Halloween!

That is SO COOL. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an antique hearse before, it will give a whole new dimension to the ghost stories that I’m reading aloud every night!
I cannot wait for the trick-or-treaters! We spent the last two Halloweens in rental units, bought far too much candy, and had two kids knock on the door. This year, neighbors have told us to anticipate between 40 and 50 kids!

wow, 40-50 kids! we usually don’t have many trick-or-treaters either, but this year we live in a neighborhood where we are surrounded with little ones. I’m hoping we’ll have more. I just love the little costumes.
