Ruby Beach, Washington Coast

Last Friday we went out for a drive through the temperate rain forests on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula to celebrate Mom’s birthday. As it turns out, much of the forest along Scenic Highway 101 has been clear cut, but my oh my, how refreshing was the view of the Pacific Ocean

Tully’s, Seattle

Once upon a time, this landmark housed the Raineer Brewery. It had a big red R on top. You remember the commercials, a motorcycle shifting through gears “Raaaay Neeeeeeer Beeeeeeer

The building has since been purchased by the Tully’s Coffee and much of the building has been sectioned off into artists’ lofts. The paint job is relatively new and I have yet to warm to the new color scheme.

Real Change

Monday was the sixth worst day in the history of Wall Street. I am so thankful that attempts of Bush and McCain to privatize Social Security by turning it over to the likes of the Lehman Brothers were not successful and already put into effect. Social Security is in a bad way currently, but privatization, elective or not, would have completely done in our senior citizens that depend on these funds for survival.
